What To Expect

Dedication To Sensitive Practice

Many people find it difficult to discuss bowel, bladder and pelvic pain issues and we recognize that seeking treatment for these problems can be daunting. Clients will receive confidential treatment in a caring and respectful environment.

The Pelvic Health Clinic strives to foster an environment where clients feel safe and supported. In order to help you feel safe and avoid possible triggers, we ask that you discuss with your therapist how they might make you feel more comfortable and better supported during assessment and treatment.

Payment

At this time, we are using contactless payment methods (credit card, debit, cash or cheque). We provide you with a detailed receipt that includes your therapist’s registration number. You may then submit this receipt to your insurance company to be reimbursed for your visit.

Private physiotherapy treatment is not covered under the provincial health plan in Nova Scotia (MSI). However, most private insurance companies cover private physiotherapy treatments. Please check with your health insurance provider (for instance, Medavie Blue Cross, Great West Life, SunLife, RWAM, etc.) regarding your coverage.

Cancellation Process

Our cancellation policy is easy to maintain and simple to remember: we only require 24 hours notice.  Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient. Any appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a $30 fee.  Cancellations are accepted via email, text or voicemail.  Last minute cancellations directly affect your therapist’s earnings for the day, so we truly appreciate ample time to try to fill your spot.

Scent-Free Policy

As part of our commitment to provide a safe environment for our patients, clients, health care practitioners, and employees, The Pelvic Health Clinic has a scent free policy. Please refrain from wearing perfume, scented hairspray, cologne, scented deodorant, aftershave, or any other scented products when you come to our clinic. Scented products contain chemicals which can cause migraines, nausea, and even breathing problems for people with asthma, allergies, and environmental illness.
