The Pelvic Health Clinic is Now Offering Pelvic Safe Yoga!

Announcing our list of Fall 2022 yoga offerings at The Pelvic Health Clinic!
Join us in exploring the wonderful benefits of yoga and social connection! Our Fall yoga offerings will focus on pelvic-safe and gentle movement, relaxation and breath work, while fostering a welcoming space for participants of all yoga levels and abilities. Please review the following class schedule and descriptions to see what will best suit your interests and availability:

Series 1: Facilitated Pelvic Pain Support Group & Yoga with Amy Yorke & Misha Leach - 8 weeks

Time: Monday evenings 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Course period: October 17th - December 5th, 2022
Description: The purpose of this session is to facilitate a safe and inclusive space for the sharing of kindness, empathy, and resources for those living with pelvic pain. It is our hope that this session will illuminate a path forward that may have been otherwise unseen and facilitate understanding and support for all who attend. You are welcome to attend and simply listen, or if you feel comfortable, you are invited to share your knowledge and experience with others. The support group will be followed by a 45 minute restorative yoga session. This offering will be facilitated by Amy Yorke, PT (Resident) and Misha Leach, Social Worker and Yoga Instructor.
What to bring: Yoga mat
Cost: $250.00 + HST

Series 2: Hatha Yoga with Emma Smiley - 10 weeks

Time: Tuesday evenings 6:45 - 7:45 pm
Course period: October 11th - December 13th, 2022
Description: Join us for this gentle Hatha series and discover the wellness benefits of yoga. Learn to use common props to find ways to adapt poses to fit your body as we feel and breathe our way through a slow flow. Gain some confidence with the practice as we explore common poses, grounding, movement and stillness. This offering will be taught by Emma Smiley, RMT and Yoga Instructor.
What to bring: Yoga mat
Cost: $225.00 + HST

Series 3: Gentle Movement Yoga with Denise Pelkey - 10 weeks

Time: Wednesdays 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Course period: October 12th - December 14th, 2022
Description: Join us as we explore the chakras! Each week will focus on 1 chakra and the poses that resonate most with that chakra. A gentle and extremely modifiable yoga series that includes some flow, some holds, breath work and mantras/meditations. This series is for all levels and abilities. This offering will be taught by Denise Pelkey, RMT and Yoga Instructor.
Parking: As this class is held during clinic hours, we ask those attending (if you are able) to please park at the fire station - 1150 Cole Harbour Road.
What to bring: Yoga mat
Cost: $225.00 + HST

Series 4: Restorative/Nidra Yoga Series with Denise Pelkey - Chair Yoga Modification Available - 10 weeks

Time: Fridays mornings 9:30-10:30 am
Course period: October 7th- December 16th, 2022 (no class on November 11th).
Description: A soothing class using bolsters and supports to assist long-held poses with a focus on breath. Reach towards ultimate rest with the meditative, progressive relaxation of Yoga Nidra! This offering will be taught by Denise Pelkey, RMT and Yoga Instructor.
Parking: As this class is held during clinic hours, we ask those attending (if you are able) to please park at the fire station - 1150 Cole Harbour Road.
Chair yoga modification: We will have an additional instructor attending this class to demonstrate chair yoga poses.
What to bring: Extra soft yoga mat
Cost: $225.00 + HST

COVID-19 Protocols:

Masks will continue to be required in clinic common spaces, but can be removed once settled on your mat if you are comfortable to do so. Classes will be socially distanced.

The Pelvic Health Clinic is an accessible space: Our clinic is equipped with an elevator, accessible washroom on the main floor, and an accessible entrance (facing the main road). We make every effort we can to ensure that our yoga classes are accessible to anyone who is eager to participate, so please contact us directly with any accessibility concerns. Please note that some of our classes take place during clinic hours and clinic parking might not always be available for class attendees Parking is always available just down the road at the Fire Hall (1150 Cole Harbour Road).
