Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate

Vanessa is a graduate of Yorkville University with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. After completing an undergraduate degree in performance arts, Vanessa spent 20 years touring nationally and internationally as a creator and educator specializing in mental health advocacy through creativity and community connection, as well as advocating for accessibility in arts and movement based spaces.

Vanessa’s work within the mental health field expanded to specializing in therapeutic and creative interventions for those experiencing medical trauma and end of life care within hospital settings.

Vanessa approaches counselling therapy through a person-centred and trauma-informed lens using an integrative style that prioritizes neuro and gender affirming care, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys running and cycling, and is a keen participant and supporter of the Atlantic Canadian arts scene.
